Although I didn't quite realize it at
the time, the inspiration for Green Baby Bliss began over 2 years ago when my
amazing daughter Lillian was born. This wonderful and rewarding gift lead
me to learn and discover all that I could, in order to raise a happy, healthy,
blissful baby! It's the insight that I have gained as a parent which has inspired
me to create greenbabybliss.com.
When I first discovered I was going to be a mom I was ecstatic, I wanted to go
out and buy every possible baby item I could. I had little knowledge
about what to actually purchase, but I read lots of reviews thinking I was doing
the right thing by purchasing what ads, television and the media suggested was
"best" for baby. I had no information about leaching
plastics, lead in toys, the importance of organic cottons and other sustainable
fabrics, etc. One day I happened to stumble upon an article about plastic
leaching in baby bottles, cased by the chemical Bisphenol-A (BPA). I was completely shocked and
immediately continued my research. Shortly after this, major toy manufactures
began recalling children and baby toys after finding high levels of lead and other hazardous chemicals.
It was at this point I realized the "best" for my baby was not
exactly true. I began to really focus on natural, safe and organic
products for her.I also recognized how
important it was to get this message out to other families. I set out to create a site where parents and loved ones could find natural, safe and organic
baby products all in one place.
Through the process of locating the best manufacturers I am delighted to find many wonderful
small businesses and companies that had made it their goal to produce creative
and high quality products. These are the products that are TRULY "best" for baby.All products and brands sold on Green Baby Bliss are specifically
chosen for a reason and even tested on my own little one! We offer a variety of recycled wooden and organic cotton toys
to cloth diapers, organic bedding and clothing, even safe baby skin care products.
I am extremely excited to share these gifts with families across the United States. Let's
make it our goal to raise happy, healthy, blissful, green babies together!
